Don’t Count Yourself Out

There will be times in your life when everything around you seems to whisper, “You’re done.” The opportunity didn’t work out. The door closed. Someone walked away. Maybe you failed, and now shame is sitting heavy on your shoulders. And in the middle of it all, the thought comes: “Maybe this is as far as I’ll go.”

But I want to remind you of something: Don’t count yourself out.

Because God hasn’t.

When people walk away, when plans fall apart, when it feels like everything is against you — that’s not the end of your story. It’s just the middle. And God never writes a story that ends in defeat for His children. You might feel broken, but He’s still building. You might feel overlooked, but He’s still watching. You might feel stuck, but He’s still moving things in your favor.

David was left out in the field when Samuel came looking for a king. Everyone else was chosen before him. Even his own father didn’t call his name. But God saw what no one else saw — and He called David anyway. You might feel forgotten, like you’ve been skipped over, but God hasn’t skipped a thing. You are right where He needs you to be.

Don’t make permanent decisions based on temporary pain. Just because it's hard now doesn't mean it will always be. You’re not too late. You haven’t missed it. You didn’t ruin your purpose. That dream that feels buried? It’s not dead — it’s planted. And in the right season, it’s going to rise again.

You’ve got to stop talking yourself out of what God is trying to talk you into. Stop rehearsing your past and start declaring His promises. You were created with purpose. You were anointed with destiny. Your current situation is not your final destination.

Speak life over your future. Start saying, “I may have been knocked down, but I’m not staying down.” Say, “This is not the end of me — this is the making of me.” Because when you agree with God, things start to shift. Strength rises. Doors open. Healing begins.

Surround yourself with people who remind you of who you are, not who you used to be. Get around people who see the greatness in you — even when you can’t see it in yourself. Sometimes all it takes is one voice of faith to silence a thousand voices of fear.

And when it feels like nothing is changing, keep showing up anyway. Keep praying. Keep working. Keep worshipping. Not because you feel strong, but because you believe God is still working behind the scenes. Faith isn’t about having all the answers — it’s about trusting the One who does.

You may not see it yet, but something is shifting. The delay is not the end. It’s the development. God is not punishing you — He’s preparing you. And when He opens the door, it’ll be the right one, at the right time, and it won’t take striving to keep it open.

You don’t have to figure it all out. You just have to believe again.

Don’t count yourself out.

You’re not too old.
You’re not too broken.
You’re not too far gone.

You are exactly where God wants you — and He’s not done with you yet.

Your story is still being written. And the next chapter?
It’s going to be more beautiful than anything you’ve seen before.
